Applying recognition theory to Migration studies & CEE – Invitation to a workshop

The aim of this workshop is to confront contemporary social philosophy with geography and connect critical social theory to spatial practice.
Addressing the theory-practice relationship we are explicitly interested in the difference space makes for Honneth’s philosophy of recognition and social freedom.

The workshop is the first of its kind in a geographic context. The IfL is therefore very happy that Eberhard Rothfuß (Bayreuth)
will join us for this event in Leipzig. Eberhard Rothfuß is the first geographer to engage with Honneth’s philosophy with a spatial interest.

The event takes place on the 5th may 2017 (10.30am – 04.00pm) in the Center for Regional Geography in Leipzig.
