Guest lecture with Prof. Semyonov – Some impressions

»From Empire to Nation? The Case of Imperial Transformations of the Russian Empire« – Guest lecture, 12th of July 2017

Was transition from empire to nation seen as inevitable at the time of the Great War and ensued political transformations? Was empire a hopeless archaism in the time of progress and reform? Could democracy be compatible with culturally divided society? Was federalism a natural solution to reformed imperial space?

In his guest lecture Prof. Alexander Semyonov discussed these questions and joined the auditorium in interactive exchange.
