New Reading Material in the journal OSTEUROPA
The corona virus keeps the world in suspense. In a number of countries, the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens to combat the pandemic are restricted. Borders are closed, economic life is almost closed. Some governments have declared the epidemic state, others simulate normality. Still others use the situation to enforce authoritarian rule. Corona is also a prism: dealing with the epidemic reveals a lot about a country’s political culture and the social and social consequences.
This is shown by the empirical studies of the journal OSTEUROPA on Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, the South Caucasus, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.
The country studies are available in German language free of charge at www.zeitschrift-osteuropa.de/hefte/2020/3-4/
