Abstract:

The topical book „How Europe got Russia Wrong – Energy, Violence, and the Environment“ by Dr. Veli-Pekka Tynkkynen examines Europe’s relationship with Russia from the 1990s onwards through three distinct lenses: energy, violence and the environment. The author explores new ways of promoting and protecting the European objectives of peace, sustainability, democracy, and the rule of law.

About the Author:

Dr. Veli-Pekka Tynkkynen is a Professor in Russian Environmental Studies at the Aleksanteri Institute, University of Helsinki and holds the title of a Docent in Russian energy and natural resource policies at the Finnish Defence University. The book launch will be moderated by Dr. Nadir Kinossian (Leibniz-Institute for Regional Geography, Leipzig).
