Invitation to EEGA’s final Symposium
The Leibniz ScienceCampus “Eastern Europe – Global Area” (EEGA) is pleased to invite to its final symposium in Leipzig (and online). In the symposium, EEGA looks back on the results of the joint work in the years 2016 – 2024, presents key products of the cross-institutional cooperation and provides an outlook on future collaboration. Guests from the scientific community and media representatives enrich the varied program.
As a highlight of the symposium programme, we would like to draw your attention to the EEGA Science Lounge in cooperation with KonKoop, which will take place in the early evening of June 6. Monica Rüthers (University of Hamburg), Petra Bopp (independent art historian, Hamburg) and Bohdan Shumylovych (Ukrainian Catholic University, Center for Urban History) will discuss the visualisation of conflicts and the documentation of war. Questions, such as what role visual material plays in the documentation of Russia’s war against Ukraine and in influencing public perception and political decision-making, and what ethical concerns arise from this, will be answered. The moderator will be Mela Žuljević (IfL).
All affiliate researchers in EEGA, as well as interested colleagues from universities and research institutions in Leipzig, Halle and Jena, are cordially invited to actively participate in the meetings and events and carry the ScienceCampus into the future. A small reception on Tuesday provides the opportunity for further discussions.
Please find the programm in our event calender.
