Science Festival Globe 2023, 24 -27 October in Leipzig
From 24 to 27 October 2023, the Research Center Global Dynamics (ReCentGlobe) at Leipzig University, together with numerous partners, invites to the Globe23 science festival.
We are living in a time of upheaval: tremors in the international order, catastrophic effects of the climate crisis, rapid spread of new technologies and dwindling trust in democracy: it seems as if foundations of our coexistence that were believed to be secure are suddenly slipping here and in many other places in the world. Is this impression true? How are these changes related to each other? And above all: what does all this mean for individuals in Leipzig and elsewhere? At the Globe23 science festival, everything revolves around these questions. Themes include the latest climate protests, new developments in the climate crisis, demographic change, racism and feminism, and the war in Europe.
On Wednesday, 25 October, 3 – 4:30 pm, the event New diplomacy? Book talk “From Cable Telegraph To Cyber Diplomacy” will feature EEGA textbook editor Gilad Ben-Nun, Francis Onditi and Katharina Mclarren. They are going to present and discuss about the anthology „The Palgrave Handbook of Diplomatic Thought and Practice in the Digital Age“.
The events are free of charge. Registration is only required for workshops and the Children’s University.
